Beer Poll

We were introduced to a new game out here in Portland. It is called beer poll. All you need are two 6 feet pvc piping polls, Jon was very proud of himself for building the polls, a frisbee, and two empty beer bottles. The goal of the game is to hit the poll with the frisbee and knock the beer bottle off without the the other team catching them. There are points involved sort of like corn hole. You also must have a drink in one had at all times. We had a lot of fun playing this game before dinner one night with some of Jon and Lucy's friends. This pictures are a little boring, sorry I just wanted to show you some of the action.

Portland Vacation

We are having such a great time in Portland visiting Jon and Lucy for vacation. Portland is an awesome city and there is so much to do; I can't believe we only have two days left. So far we have enjoyed the nature and city life Portland has to offer. The first two day we were here we explored the great outdoors. The first day was also Brian's Birthday. We went on some amazing hikes to see several different waterfalls and went to eat at a great restaurant followed by martinis at Olive or Twist (what a great name for a martini bar). On day two we explored the Coast. It's called the Coast rather than the beach because it's very cold so no swimming was involved. Jon has a really cool kite that we got to fly and even though it wasn't really a windy day Jon was excited that he made his kite do 20 flips, 10 more than he has ever accomplished before. After the kite action we had lunch in town and headed to another part of the coast for some rock climbing. After the cost we went home to meet Lucy for dinner at the Lucky Lab. (Lucy was out of town for the weekend) Their house is really close to a village so they have a bunch of good restaurants and little shops within walking distance, like the Lucky Lab. Stay tuned...

Columbia Annual Soccer Match

Last weekend we went to Columbia's soccer game and barbecue. We had a really good time and Brian scored 3 goals. We really enjoy going to this event every year, can't wait till next year.

Weekends in Maryland

For the past two weekends we decided to escape the heat of the city and go to Maryland. It was nice to see Foster, go out on the boat, swim in the bay, eat crabs, do a little shopping and relax.

A few weeks ago we went to listen to a beautiful free concert in Central Park put on by the Philharmonic. It was a beautiful cool night spent with good friends, nice food, and great wine. Relaxing summer nights are the best. The night ended with an awesome fireworks display.

Nantucket

Last week I went to Nantucket with the family I nanny for. It was one of the the most beautiful places I have ever been and I wish I could have shared it with Brian but he had to work. All the towns are so adorable and the lawns are manicured perfectly with gorgeous flowers and very tall hedges. It feels like you are on a movie set because everything is so perfect and beautiful to look at. I can't wait to go back with Brian some time. Our time in Nantucket was filled with adorable children, great food, good conversation, sand, sun and lots of fun. I have several pictures because we were there for 9 days.
