Graduation PGY4

Last Friday night was the graduation dinner for the PGY5's who have completed their residency. Gosh, I can't wait until I get to post this same blog about Brian. It was such a fun night that included dinner, drinks, dancing, a shuttle = "party bus" that got into a wreak but that's another story, after party at the Soho House which is a member's only club that Columbia rented out, and an all around fun night that lasted until 4 in the morning.

Brian's New Office

Brian has been really excited about having dual computer screens and learning how to make one large super screen and then he has another computer altogether at the desk, 3 screens in total. When I came home one day from work he welcomed me into his office, aka the dinning room table. Ahh, apartment life :)

Glee

Last week we went to see Glee Live! Brian had gotten the tickets for us as my anniversary gift. We love watching Glee and they sound amazing live. There was a surprise guest, Gwyneth Paltrow, and she sang the Cee Lo song. Our seats were at the very top but it was still a great show. Thanks Brian.

Fab Finds!

Lately I have come across a few wonderful and very cute products I thought I would share. I don't have my own children yet but I am surrounded by them everyday so I feel like I'm a knowledgeable source when it comes to finds for kids as well. The first product I want to share is called Chewbeads. It's one of those products that I came across in the store while looking for a baby gift and thought "UGH, WHY DID'T I THINK OF THAT." This is a genius product that would make a great gift to any mom-to-be.
From the Company Site: www.chewbeads.com

The idea for Chewbeads began in 2009 shortly after the birth of my son. Like most babies, he loved to put everything in his mouth and my necklaces were a favorite. Like most moms, I didn't feel comfortable letting him chew on them, with concern that they might break or have unwanted chemicals. As a veteran of the fashion industry, I had an amazing collection of necklaces and bracelets, so with those as my inspiration, I set out to create soft, non-toxic jewelry, which was colorful, chic and, above all else safe. Hence, Chewbeads!

  • Beads are made with 100% silicone (similar to pacifiers & nipples)
  • Soft on babies gums and emerging teeth
  • Easily cleaned with dish soap & water, also dishwasher safe!
  • No BPA, PVC, Phthalates, Cadmium, or Lead
  • Necklaces have a breakaway clasp for added safety
  • Necklaces are a great sensory tool to help your baby focus while nursing
  • Bracelets are a colorful reminder of which side you've just nursed

These shoes are the next great "kid" find for the summer. Crocs are great but they have their downfalls: slipping off, not a flat bottom, clunky and cause a lot of tripping. These are awesome shoes and I would highly recommend them. Also they come in several cool colors. These are Clementine's Red Summer Water Shoes :) *no socks needed

This next find is for myself. I saw this bucket at a cute store and had to have it. It is a great improvement to our old entry shoebox. Too bad she doesn't have a website but this would be so easy to make. I have seen buckets like this at several stores and if you aren't the best artist just buy scrapbook stickers to label and decorate. You could make these cute buckets for anything really: Sunscreen, Crayons, Dog Toys, Etc...

My last find is an Etsy find of course. I love Etsy. I recently acquired the iphone 4 and needed a new cover. So I thought why not personalize it. The covers can also be made for the iphone 3.

Happy Birthday Jennie Burke!

A few weeks ago Brian and I headed down to Annapolis to surprise Jennie Burke at her 40th birthday party. OMG it was so much fun and she was so surprised! To get Jennie to the marina where the party was held Mike had a representative from the company of the boat they own to call her and say they needed to bring the boat in because there was a recall on a part, she had no idea what was really going down. Those Burke Kids sure do know how to party. It was so great to see the entire Burke Family and see how much they have grown. Jennie and Mike are doing great and they are so much fun to be around. Their love for life is really infectious and just makes you think about how lucky we are to have such a wonderful life with amazing family and friends. I was able to spend some time with her New Orleans girlfriend and they we such nice people to get to know. I can't wait to go back and visit them again.

Memorial Day Weekend

For Memorial Day weekend we took a much needed break from the city and headed out to Maryland for a nice relaxing weekend with Foster and Mom & Dad Schulz. I didn't take many pics because we were mostly lounging all weekend but we did enjoy a nice dinner at a restaurant on the water and an afternoon on the boat.

2011 Alumni Event

Two weekends ago (I'm still a little behind on the blog) was the Alumni Dinner that is held every two years. We had a really nice night and it's always fun to get dressed up all fancy, enjoy good food, drinks, and dance the night away.
