Christmas Take 2 All Better

Since we were all sick on Christmas I was a little disappointed that we didn't get to dress the kids up in their Christmas outfits and have a nice meal together etc... So once everyone was feeling better we dressed up took some family pics in front of the tree before it came down and went to the Grove to enjoy the Christmas decor and have a nice family meal out.

10 months

At the beginning of January Hudson and Hadley turned 10 months old.  At this stage we are settled into a very good routine and they bring us so much joy everyday.  Their favorite time of day is bath time.  When they get done with dinner they both crawl into the bathroom on their own and stand at the edge of the tub until we put them in.  We are keeping busy these days and Hadley and Hudson are in three classes a week; my gym, mommy and me school, and music. Hudson is a social butterfly at all his classes and Hadley hangs close to her mommy and calmly takes it all in. They do flock together for the most part though especially at home, they follow each other around and are always in the same room it's very sweet. They are both very good sleepers and take two good naps a day and sleep through the night from 7:00pm-6:30am. Here is a little more on them as individuals since they are such different babies.

Hudson

• Hudson is a really good eater.  The first bite of everything he takes he spits out.  It seems as though he doesn't quite trust that what we are giving him tastes good.  But once he gets a taste he devours everything within his reach.
• His favorite foods are crackers, pancakes, anything in a pouch and water.  Yes, water.
• He understands the words no and shakes his head when we say it to him.
• He has learned not to take Hadley's toys (for the most part) except for when we are not looking.
• Gives kisses to himself "The Baby" in the mirror of his favorite book and he gives mommy and daddy kisses on demand as well as spontaneously.
• Pulls up to standing on most things.  
• He likes to cuddle when he wakes up from his naps.
• He has six teeth. (2 on top, 4 on bottom)
• He makes animated faces, like puckering his lips, all the time.
• He laughs out loud a lot and babbles all day long.
• Hudson always has at least 2 or more bruises on his head from running into things.
• He is the master of playtime.  His favorite toys are his house, airplane and piano.
• Music class is one of his favorite activities.
• When it comes to Hudson's temper there is no middle ground he is either happy or mad.
• He loves to be the center of attention.  He has become a sweet little boy and doesn't want to leave mommy's side.

Hadley

• She is very particular in what she eats and when.  She likes to feed herself everything on her own time but she has a good appetite.
• Her favorite foods are bananas, cheese, yogurt, guacamole and lasagna.
• The day she turned 10 months old she decided to go on a nursing strike and stop breast feeding cold turkey.  She now only drinks WARM breast milk from her straw cup.  
• Favorite toys are maracas and books.  She loves to be read to and read on her own.
• She finally began to crawl.  
• She has four teeth. (2 on top, 2 on bottom)
• When she gets excited she pants.
• She loves to dance with her daddy.  She especially likes the swings and dips.
• She is a very serious baby.
• No matter what time of day she is put in her crib for a nap she gets giddy and excited and wants to play peak-a-boo until we have to leave the room.
• She likes to get Hudson in trouble.  She realizes that Hudson is not supposed to take her toys so she taunts him with her toys and then cries very loud once he takes it.  She immediately stops crying and moves on to the next toy once Hudson gets in trouble.
• She is an excellent splasher in the tub.
• Hadley's hair is still really short on top but it is getting quite long in the back and she has a few little curls on the side.
• Hadley still doesn't like to cry much at all but she does whine if she isn't happy.
• She does not like to cuddled really close or get kisses on he face but she will relax in your lap for long periods of time which is really sweet.

Our Christmas 2013

I was looking forward to this Christmas for months and was so excited to be celebrating this year as our first Christmas with our little peanuts. But sickness came upon the Schulz family and it was a total bummer. Thank goodness Brian's parents were visiting so that we had extra hands with the babies but they were not spared from this stomach bug which took about 5 days to run its course. Hudson was the only one who dodged the bullet. We did at least have a few fun days before it hit and we tried to make the best of the situation. Brian and I were looking forward to having many date nights but since we seemed to feel worse at night we stayed home all but two times and started watching Breaking Bad. Currently on season 4 and loving it.

Before we were sick we enjoyed a fun night on the swings waiting for it to get dark to see this awesome street of Christmas lights called Candy Cane Lane

Christmas Eve: Pat was the first one to get sick but was feeling better and Hadley had thrown up in the morning and wouldn't eat all day but seemed OK and happy so we all got dressed up and attempted church. The babies only lasted through half of mass so then we went to a really nice dinner and sat outside overlooking the marina. It was such a nice night and the last dinner we had before the hard core sickness hit :(

Christmas Morning: Santa Came! Sadly Brian missed most of the present opening and was not in any pictures because he was up all night sick. But the babies loved it! Hudson is into everything and he knew there were new toys for him. Hadley was excited to in her cool calm way.

 The day after Christmas: Daddy was feeling much better but mommy started to feel sick. We saved presents from Grandmom and Grandpop, Friends and Stockings for day two and then Brian got to be a part of it.
