9 months!

On December 4th you guys hit the 9 month mark! This year has gone buy so fast and we sure have been busy. Every month I am more amazed at how perfect and beautiful and sweet and smart my babies are! We are so blessed to have so much joy in our lives that Hadley and Hudson bring. They are still very different babies and into different things too. Here is what I can remember about them at 9 months even though I am probably forgetting a lot of details.

Hudson

  • He is very active and can army crawl and regular crawl.  The army crawl is faster so it depends on what he is aiming to get.
  • Sits up, lies down and can even pull to standing.
  • He is a man on a mission.
  • One of his favorite things to do is take all of the books off the shelf everyday, multiple times per day if they have been cleaned up from the last time.  There is one music book in particular that he finds and plays every time.
  • At night he loves to play peek-a-boo when we tuck him in.  He would play all night if we kept going with it.
  • He can wave and is working on clapping.
  • Sometimes he holds his own bottle except when jealous of Hadley and insists on one of us holding it for him.
  • Favorite toys are his keyboard and the ipad Fisher Price apps.  In addition, he wants any toy that Hadley is playing with until he takes it from her.
  • Very dramatic at times.
  • Says momma momma momma, dadda dadda dadda and Bub Rub (his nickname), makes growling noises and little "Oh" sounds.
  • Will eat anything and everything and makes a mess at meal time.  Last week he ate a whole pizza crust.
  • His favorite food is any type of cracker or cheerios.
  • He loves to follow mommy around the apartment.
  • When he does actually slow down he is a sweet and smiley little boy with a grin from ear to ear. And we are never short on entertainment with Bub Rub around.

Hadley

  • She likes to stand up all the time which is difficult for us because she can't do it on her own.
  • She still cannot crawl but can sit on her own.
  • Loves to jump and dance especially with her daddy.
  • Her favorite toy is whatever we give her to play with.  She also likes her pretend food, little people squishy book and little people figurines.
  • She thinks its funny to steal Hudson's binki.
  • Always taps things with her thumb down.
  • She loves music and playing with the ipad.
  • Her favorite time of day is bath time.  She is an excellent splasher.
  • She says momma momma momma, dadda dadda dadda and "yeah" and makes cooing noises.
  • She has a sweet tooth and her favorite foods are yogurt and cheese.
  • She is a very slow eater.
  • She is very laid back about most things.
  • She loves to be tucked into her crib and play peek-a-boo at night.
  • She is a sweet and happy baby.  She is so relaxed especially compared to her wild brother.

Bath Basket

I have been trying to figure out a way to bathe them together in the big tub forever since those bath rings were discontinued. I saw this idea on a blog and we tried it and it worked! They think it is so much fun to play in the bath together. This new method is just in time for these dark winter nights. I really don't like how early it gets dark but at least it's not cold.
Even if they fall over a little the side catches them but I don't think Hadley minded

8 months!

My babies are 8 months old now. I think this stage should be called the busy bee stage because they are so curious and into everything and there isn't much down time or relaxing cuddle time these days. They are so much fun and make us laugh hysterically at the same time as making us want to pull our hair out every day. Hudson and Hadley are very different babies but they are so happy and love life. When they go to sleep at night Hudson scoots all the way to the top of his crib and Hadley scoots to the very bottom of hers so they are as close together as they can get and they sleep like that usually head to head. Then in the morning they talk to each other for anywhere from 30 mins to an hour, it's so sweet.

Notice how much Hudson moves around for pictures I took these all in a few minutes and Hadley just sat there for the most part but Hudson is another story

Hudson

  • Husdon is a Mommy's boy
  • He is really on the move in the last two weeks and he has mastered getting anywhere he wants to go.  He doesn't crawl but he pulls himself across the floor or rolls everywhere. I just had to move the picture frames off the bottom shelf because he wanted to pull them down everyday and we also purchased a gate to contain him if i have to cook or go to the bathroom.
  • Just two days ago he mastered the wave and will wave on command or when he hears bye bye or hello.
  • LOVES food: he will eat anything and he gets so excited when it is eating time. He is really good at feeding himself little pieces of toast, chicken, banana, pear, cheese, potato, puffs...but I think his favorite is the mum mum crackers; he goes wild for these things, it's like baby junk food but with only 7 calories.
  • Our little poopy head, this guy is so regular and goes about 5 times a day. His favorite place to take care of business is his car seat which is now called the pooping chair.
  • Talks a lot, Brian thinks he is going to talk as much as I do. He babbles all the time and says, mamama, dadada, bababa, acooo, etc...
  • Binkie obsessed
  • Loves all electronics: iphone, ipad, computer, remote and lunges for them
  • Hudson is like a drooly faucet and has to wear bibs all day.
  • Hudson's mission is to take any toy Hadley has.
  • He has so much energy and is very enthusiastic about everything, it is exhausting just watching him. and it is like wrestling an alligator to do most things.

Hadley

  • Hadley is a Daddy's Girl and when he comes home from work she lights up.
  • My little squealer. Hadley likes to screech and squeal and make really loud shrieking noises. She makes these sounds when she is happy and mad but most off all she really knows how to get your attention.
  • A game she likes to play with Hudson is to take his binkie out of his mouth and then laugh and then he takes it out of her hand and puts it back in. They played 5 rounds of this game just this morning.
  • She also loves to play peek-a-boo. At night she puts her giraffe over her face and pulls it off over and over again and she thinks it is so funny.
  • Hadley is not as enthusiastic about food as Hudson. She will feed herself table food sometimes but not that often and she doesn't really like texture. She loves to drink water and after two weeks of trying everyday she learned how to suck out of a sippy cup.
  • Hadley has the cutest smile and it stretches from ear to ear when she decides to flash you a big grin but she can be very stingy with her smiles.
  • I think Hadley's favorite thing to do is be in her bouncer she loves to jump and her next favorite thing is to get horsey rides in our laps.
  • She still sings along to songs at night and loves music.
  • At night she talks up a storm in her crib and rolls around and kicks her music box fish tank.
  • She can get up on all fours but she doesn't ever crawl she just rocks back and forth but she can roll to get where she wants to go.
  • She is such a sweet little girl with a very calm personality and prefers to be left alone to entertain herself a majority of the time.
