Louisville Barbecue

After Jason's wedding I headed down to Louisville for a quick 3 day visit. We had a really nice barbecue the fist night I arrived. Living out of town makes it very hard to see everyone in such a short time so it's nice when we can all get together at once. There were so many little ones running around it was awesome. Just 4 years ago I threw a big surprise party for Brian's 26th birthday and his graduation and the only baby there was Madalyn, but this time there were 8 babies under 5 and all my cousins too. We traded in jello shots for sunscreen and a bouncy water slide for water wings but it was so much fun. I'm glad everyone was able to make it out since I know my parent's house can be a hike.

Jason's Wedding

A couple of weeks ago we headed to Jason Warren's wedding in Chicago. Our trip was a bit difficult since our flight was canceled because of storms and we had to go to Baltimore and wake up at 4am to catch a 6:30am flight then stayed up partying at the wedding until midnight, but I'm glad we made it because it was an amazing wedding and so much fun. We stayed with Stephen and his girlfriend Melissa and although we were barely in Chicago for 24 hours we made the best out of it. The Westin has the most amazing beds called heavenly mattresses and we ate brunch at one of our favorite spots, the Grand Lux Cafe. Then we went to the wedding and I even got a little shopping done during the break before the reception.

Baby Book

Recently one of my good friends from New York had a baby shower. She is due at the end of the month but is keeping the gender a surprise. My friend Mandy and I wanted to make her something special and personalized so we came up with this idea of an activity/quiet time book. We split up the pages and each created ten different texture pages then sewed the book together. I love the way it turned out.

Annual Columbia BBQ

Last weekend was the annual Columbia Summer Barbecue and soccer match at Dr. Roye's house. It was our last one :( and one of our favorite Columbia family events. We thought it was going to pour down rain but after a quick 15 minute shower it turned out to be a beautiful day. If you like frisbee, they had this really cool game there called Kan Jam, another cornhole type backyard game. Check it out here: www.kanjam.com could be a good gift for those college boys or most of our husbands who still pretend like they are in college. 

Peach Pick'n

On Saturday Bob and Kristine invited us to go to a farm north of the city to pick peaches. We had a nice picnic lunch and then slaved away picking lots of peaches, apples, and strawberries. It was a great day except it was very hot. I'm not really cut out for too much manual labor.

4th of July

I never posted about our4th of July because I think I was still trying to catch up on Paris. We had a nice time at one of the attending's apartment roof tops over looking the Hudson River Fireworks Show.

Active Weekend

Last weekend was very busy. Friday night was Joe's last night in town so we all went out for a little going away bash.

Brian had an active Saturday with his fellow residents. After running 6 miles (training run for the marathon) he meet up with the other PGY5s and biked to Far Rockaway Beach and back. Round trip it's a 60 mile bike ride.

 My Aunt Marianne was also in town so we got to hang out with her a little bit and have a nice dinner together.
