Miami: Visiting Candi

While we were in Miami we were able to spend a little time with my second cousin Candi. She lives in Miami and supplied us with a lot of great tips about what to do and where to eat. One day she took us out to Biscayne Bay to have brunch at the Hungry Pelican. It has one of the best views in all of Miami and we had the perfect table right by a window. Thank you Candi for showing us a nice time in South Beach.

Miami Vacation: Beach Days

Last weekend we took a short but much needed four day trip to Miami, FL. It was wonderful to escape the cold snowy weather and enjoy the bright sunshine beaches of Miami. The water in Miami is so beautiful it is as pretty as the Caribbean. We spent most of our days sipping drinks and relaxing on the beach and our nights eating yummy dinners.

All the lifeguard stands are painted bright colors one day we went to yoga on the beach at the 3rd Street stand. It is very challenging to hold yoga poses on the sand.

Playhouse

I finished the felt house I was working on a few weeks ago and when I went to Louisville I took it to Madalyn for her birthday. I was so excited to see it on the card table to get the final visual. I wish I had a playhouse this cool when I was little. I did't get to see Madalyn open it because it was after bedtime when I was over but Nikki told me that Hayden and Madalyn loved it and were having so much fun in the house. I'm glad they liked it.

More Louisville Weekend

While I was in Louisville I was also able to spend a little time with a few other close friends.

Jude had just turned 1 at the end of February so I was excited to actually give him his gift in person. I'm sure this summer he will be putting all around the yard but for now he at least likes the way it tastes.

Lauren was able to stop by as well I was so glad to see these girls and have dinner with them even if it was just for a short time. I really miss all my girlfriends, thank you for making the hike out to my parents new house to visit.

Sara's Baby Shower

This weekend I took a very fun but quick trip to Louisville. There was a lot to celebrate this weekend because on Sunday we had a baby shower for Sara's twin baby girls and on Monday my dad celebrated his 55th birthday. Monday was also Stephen's birthday but he was out of town. Sara's baby shower so much fun and she was really showered with a plethora of fabulous gifts. Sara is very blessed with many generous friends and family.

Last Saturday we also went to the "Top of the Rock" to check out the view. It's an awesome view of the city here are a few pics from the top.

On Sunday Night we had a great time walking through Central Park acting like kids again.

A Night out on Broadway

For our anniversary weekend we also went to see a Broadway Show on Saturday night. We saw American Idiot which is set to all Green Day music. The best part about the show was Billy Joe, the lead singer of Green Day, was in the show that night. We had a lot of fun and I just love going to Broadway.

Brian and Elizabeth went to see Lion King the same night and then we met up afterwards.

After the show we went to a club and danced the night away but the crowed at the club was very strange. We were wondering if missed a memo about needing to be on drugs to fit in or maybe we just entered the twilight zone, but we enjoyed watching some interesting and comical dancers. At least I had a chance to finally wear my New Years outfit since I was sick and wasn't able to go out.
