Aunt & Uncle Visit

Two weekends ago my Aunt Marianne and Uncle Tommy came in town to visit. We had such a fun time especially since Tommy had never been to New York. He was so funny buying up all the street vendor items. For example he bought about 10 I Love NY shirts. On Friday night we went to a great comedy club and laughed till our tummies hurt. There are so many great comedians in New York that every night is a great show even if its not a major celeb. We had one person from the Chappelle Show and one from 30 Rock. We are defiantly going back. It was also nice to hang out with Elaina because she is so cute and getting so big now. We took her to the American Girl Doll store because Marianne, her Meme, was going to get her one and she was a riot in the store. Little kids know what they want and are so sure of it. I can't wait for them to come back and visit again.

More Vacation Pictures

It has taken me a while to recoup from vacation and get back into the swing of things. I just now downloaded the rest of our vacation photos to the computer. The only thing I didn't take pictures of was the amazing day when Pat and I went to the natural hot springs and she treated us to spa treatments. If you have never had a salt scrub on your entire body I highly recommend it.
This was my favorite trail that we skied
because this was the view the entire way down
Stretching for the second day on the slopes
As you see Brian just let me enter the are where it's marked No Beginners
but I just went right passed without even knowing

While the boys hit the terrain park I relaxed at the Snow Beach

When we left we stopped at In-N-Out Burger and it was so delicious also everyone there was unusually happy it kind of felt like we were on the Truman Show
I always wanted to get my fortune told by Zoltar
My wish was to be BIG
We stopped in Virginia City on the way to Reno and it was as redneck backcountry as it gets

We spent the last night in Reno because our flight was at
6:00 am but we did hit the casinos one last time
And nothing ends a vacation like a three pack of tall boys

Lake Tahoe Vacation

This week we are having a wonderful vacation in Lake Tahoe with Brian's parents and brothers. So far we have hit the slopes and the casinos, but no one has been too lucky. This place is so beautiful and we are so lucky to be able to go on a wonderful vacation like this. Brian went skiing the first day with his brothers and I stayed off the mountain so that they could have fun and ski the hard stuff. On Monday I decided to join them. I didn't get off to a very good start since once we got off the lift and I looked down the mountain I almost cried and asked if I was allowed to ride the lift back down, of course the answer was no. I had a feeling we might have been going somewhere that I didn't want to go but I trusted Brian. When we first got on the lift there was a sign that said "No Beginers" and I asked Brian if I should really be going up this part of the mountain and his response was that the sign was just a joke. Well the joke was on me because I have never been so scared in my life. After a slid on my butt half way down we finally found a green trail and I started to have fun and I actually stayed upright. Brian was very patient with me and is a great instructor, but I'm never going down that part of the mountain again. Today we went on a hike to a really pretty lake and tomorrow we are going skiing again. I love being on vacation.

Nanny Mondays

I really do have a great job. It's like being a stay at home mom with all the ups and downs of taking care of brilliant little people, but then at 6:00 I give the children back and go home or stop and get a mani-pedi, like I did today, since I have no real responsibilities at home. I also get to sleep in on the weekends (this is one of my favorite things in life!) Lately since the weather has been getting nicer my new friend, Mandy (who is also a hip young nanny), and I have been taking the kids to all kinds of fun places in the city. It's so nice to have a friend that I get along with who watches a little girl the same age as Clementine and they live across the hall. Mandy and I discovered that it really is a small world because Mandy and I both lived in Atlanta and we danced at the same studio, kinda crazy right? Anyways, Since both of the girls don't have any plans on Mondays we decided every Monday we would go on some kind of adventure. Trust me going on the subway with a 4 month old and 2 year old is probably adventure enough for most people. We went to the zoo one week, then last week we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge and explored a new playground in Tribecca, and yesterday we went to the Natural History Museum. New York City wan't just made for adults it's truly a kids playground as well. There are a hundred more places that we have on our list to go and with summer coming up there will be all kinds of free outdoor kids concerts. So any of our friends who would like to visit feel free to bring your little ones. At the museum we went to the special butterfly exhibit and there were hundreds of them flying all around us. It was really neat and if you have a chance to go in one of those butterfly chambers I recommend it but it is really hot inside the chamber (not to mention I had a 15 lb. baby strapped on so sweat was rolling down my face.) I can't wait to see where we go next.

Rainy Weekend Sewing

This weekend was so rainy and yucky out and Brian was on call Saturday so I decided to sew all day and get caught up on a bunch of shows on the DVR. Eventually I'm sure you will get sick of seeing all my sewing projects but for now I'm still in the very proud and excited stage of my work.
