Paris My Sweet
One of the
things I set out to do on my Paris trip was to eat lots of decadent desserts.
My friend Mandy gave me this awesome book called “Paris My Sweet” before I left
about a girl who loves all things sweet. She gets a dream job and leaves
Manhattan for Paris to write ad copy for Louis Vuitton. While there she makes
it her mission to find the best macaroon, cookie, cake, pastry etc.. In her
book she lists the best of the best in Paris as well as Manhattan and compares
the cupcake craze over here to the macaroon craze over there. My goal was to
make it to several of the recommended spots in the book. Here is where we went:
La Maison Georges Larnicol-My first macaroons of
the trip
Laduree macaroons (There is now a Laudree in New York and the line is always wrapped
around the block)
Angelina's -
Chocolate Chaud a place that Coco Chanel visited and the thickest hot chocolate
you could ever imagine. She describes it perfectly as “sipping melted truffles.”
kind of knocked the table and made a little mess but we had plenty extra
